Fruit of the Earth Vitamin-E Cream 4 oz. + 4 oz. Jar

Very low Vitamin E content. Not enough to be effective.1

My mother has used vitamin E cream for as long as I can remember so as part of a university project I purchased many E creams to analyze for vitamin E content. She had always wondered if it was possible to confirm that what she was using realy had 28000 IUs of E in it. I noted that some had very little vitamin E in them and Fruit Of The Earth fell into that category. In laymans terms there is a couple of drops of E between these two jars.

If you want an effective vitamin E cream look for one that tells you what you are getting in I.U.s and as a refference point one ounce of vitamin E is 28000 I.U.s (International Units) I may at some point poste the results for all of the products I tested and if I do I'll post another review and include the results for every brand.

I dont want to name names but several companies tested very well including the brand my mom uses and several store brands. On the other end of the scale was a company that claimed to have 100000 IUs and in reality they had almost no E at all. So the moral of the story is read the labels.More detail ...

Sundown Vitamin E Oil 70000 IU 2.5 Ounces (Pack of 3)

What an oil!5

This oil took me by surprise! It is really thick & concentrated! all it takes is a lil dab & covers alot of area. I use Vitamin E oil all over my body but especially around my eyes and on my elbows & knees. This was my first time using this brand but it won't be my last. Plus it was such a great value for 3 bottles of oil! I can't say enough about how good this stuff is. What ever you use it for you won't be disapointed.More detail ...

Jason Natural Cosmetics - Vitamin E Creme 25000 Iu 25000 IU 4 oz cream

What can I say? I overestimated this product.3

After years of spending thousands of dollars on expensive skincare..I decided recently to just stick with the basics..(mainly to eliminate product buildup in my bathroom)..After reading the last review I decided to purchase Jason's Vitamin E cream and I am overall disappointed with it.

First of all the line is rather very good based on past experience I had with their "Tea Time" moisturizer.

While this amped up version of the Vitamin E cream is fairly good at moisturizing the first turn off for me when I opened up the jar was the smell. It is similar to Hot tamale candies. No exaggerating here..and once I put it on my face..It FELT like a hot tamale! My face turned red and blotchy and the very strong cinnamon scent would not go away and ended up irritating my eyes. This was very discouraging for me because I don't and have never had sensitive skin. So I knew based on years of experience with literally hundreds of facial moisturizers that it was the product. I ended up giving it to my Mother and she had a similar experience. Overall I rated this item a three and the Vitaminshoppe a five because of their excellent service. If you want to go with this line I recommend either using the Vitamin E oil by itself (it is very moisturizing) or the Tea Time moisturizer which is a great product..and I HIGHLY recommend you stay away from this particular cream if you have sensitive skin.More detail ...

Nature Made Vitamin E 400 I.U. Water Soluble (300 Softgels)

Garbage Vitamin E1

There are several problems with this vitamin E:

1) Its synthetic. Synthetic vitamin E is problematic because the vitamin E molecule has 3 chiral centers. So only 1/2^3 or 1/8 of the material is identical to naturally occuring vitamin E. The other 7 forms have never been studied and may be toxic. Studies performed with synthetic E have shown toxic and damaging effects.

2) Its only alpha tocopherol. There are 3 other tocopherols and 4 other tocotrienols that are in the vitamin E family. The gamma tocopherol form seems to be especaillay important. Taking large doses of the alpha form depletes gamma tocopherol levels.

3) Its esterified (the succinate form I think) which means that its not really an antioxidant. The esterification process removes the reducing capacity of vitamin E.

the bottom line is that this product is junk and probably damaging to your health. The people that say that synthetic E is the same as natural vitamin E dont know what they are talking about. Stereochemistry and chirality are extremely important in biochemistry. For example amino acids are always in the "L" form the "D" stereoisomers of some amino acids can be deadly. This product is mostly (about 85%) a collection of random stereoisomers of vitamin E that do not occur naturally. It ought to be illegal to sell this stuff really.More detail ...

A.C. Grace - Unique E 400 IU 120 capsules

5 star product5

This vitamin E is the best I've tried. I notice a difference in my skin already and I'm not done the bottle yet. I wish it would have come with the recommended dosage as I've heard that you should take 1 pill per 40 lbs of body weight. Since I'm not sure if that's actually the case I've been taking 2 a day and it works for me. I recently noticed my elbows were dry and cracking so I've broken up a few capsuls to put directly on my skin and in 2 days my elbows are back to normal! My sister in law has eczema and she also breaks the capsuls and puts it directly on her hands and the eczema has gone away completely. I don't know if this will work for everyone as it's pretty sticky so you wouldn't want to have it all over your body. Maybe I'll try the topical vitamin E when I place my next order.More detail ...

Sundown Pure Vit E Oil 70000iu 2.5 oz 2.5 fl oz

MISLEADING- NOT Pure or Natural1

The price is so good I was questioning the quality of this oil so I did some research. I found out that Natural vitamin e -- sourced naturally-- is actually a darker amber color. This 'so pure its clear' stuff plays on the typical assumption that natural stuff is "cleaner looking" sparkly white or clear. In fact on synthetic vitamin e is clear or pale yellow the really nourishing stuff is actually darker. This makes a big difference for me because NATURAL vitamin e works wonders on my psoriasis... I get this scabby itchy psoriasis patch around my eyes so its crucial that I treat it regularly with vitamin e to keep it from causing me vision problems. I learned the difference between D-alpha tocopheryl (NATURAL Vitamin e) and DL-alpha tocopheryl (SYNTHETIC) [the little 'L' is the only clue that its synthetic) because I mistaken bought the synthetic stuff applied it to my eye area and my eyes swoll up HUGE and the psoriasis dramatically worsened-- I latter figured out that the synthetic stuff was actually aggrevating my condition possibly an allergic reaction.

Most of these vitamin e oils on Amazon fail to give a full ingredients list or specify which TYPE of vitamin e oil they include which can make all the difference if you have sensitive skin. I encourage everyone to check the items ingredients on their own company website and look for D-ALPHA and little other oils mixed in.

Yes D-ALPHA is dramaticaly more expensive but in my experience if you have sensitive skin are applying it to a delicate area or have a mark you really need to heal I say go for the best stuff. Think of it as medicine because natural vitamen e works better for treating skin problems and healing scars than a lot of pharmaceutical products out there.More detail ...
